Online streaming tournaments have gained strong ratings over the last few years, and that support should only follow into tomorrow, when the finals are hosted for the Killzone Shadow Fall World Challenge.

Killzone Shadow Fall is a first-person shooter set in the world of planetary colonization. It takes place thirty years after the events of Killzone 3, and revolves around a cold war between the Velkans and the Helghast. The main protagonist is Lucas Kellan, a member of the Shadow Marshals military, who is trying to create peace between the two armies at war. The game was released last year on November 15, 2013.

Aside from the great campaign of Killzone Shadow Fall, its online also contains a wide array of content. The Killzone Shadow Fall World Challenge is just one event that Killzone has promoted worldwide for players to participate in.

The makeup of the World Challenge is very small, but it is fun for the players and the viewers. Six teams make up the event with two different groups. In Group A there is the Autarchs, the Marshals, and the Tyrants. Group B contains SFC New Helghan, Real Madec, and Vekta United.

The event began when players signed up to participate between the dates of June 12 - June 17. The challenge schedule was announced shortly after, and contained many different rules. The tournament is first played with three challenges in the Challenge stage. Teams from Group A face teams from Group B, and the teams that win the match-ups stay high up in the rankings. At the end of the three challenges, the three teams with the highest totals of points advance to the Finals stage, along with a 'wild card' team.

The first challenge revolved around most kills/hr. It took place between June 19 - June 23. The Autarchs beat the Vetka United,  SFC New Helghan beat the Tyrants, and Real Madec beat the Marshals.

The second challenge was based on most cloaked/hr. It took place between June 26 - June 30. The Autarchs beat Real Madec, the Tyrants beat Vekta United, and the Marshals beat SFC New Helghan.

The third and final challenge before the Finals stage was most beacon spawns/hr. The four teams who moved onto the SemiFinals were the Autarchs, the Marshals, the Tyrants, and a new team called Bak's Bloodhounds.

For the SemiFinals, all the teams split out of their groups, and fought for most kills/hrs. The teams who advanced ended up being the Autarchs and the Marshals.

Now, the final two teams will compete in a 5v5 match for best of three rounds in a private Warzone using Classic Warzone modes (Capture & Hold, Search & Destroy, Beacon Retreieval, and Team Deathmatch). The maps will rotate between the Canyon, the Terminal, and the Stormgracht.

You can watch it live on Twitch on July 25, 2014 at 17:00 BST, 12:00 EDT, and 9:00 PDT.
