The news just broke out: the Destiny Beta is now free to play for PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold user.
For what began as a closed beta on July 17, 2014 for Playstation platforms and July 22, 2014 for Xbox platforms, is now an open beta.
Destiny is an online first-person shooter. In the game, the player plays as one of the Guardians, whose mission is to save the last city on earth from its enemies.
In the Destiny Beta, there are five game modes. Tower, which is the first game mode, is a third person social hub in space. The second game mode is a demo of Destiny's campaign. Destiny's competetive multiplayer, which is called Crucible, is the third game mode. Strike is a cooperative multiplayer mode, which revolves around a team of three Guardians fighting through waves of enemies. The fifth and final game mode is Explore, which is the game's free mode.
