UPDATE: The Court has approved Sony's settlement.
Original Story:
It's been three years since PSN went down for around an entire month.
For the incident, Sony was brought to court, and they finally decided on an offer to make up for the damage that was done in 2011. If the judge accepts their offer, they could be giving up $15 million dollars (wow) of free stuff to their users.
A website has been created to make a claim, but at the moment it is currently down.
For what's included in the settlements, applies to all different kinds of PSN users.
For those who didn't partake in the Welcome Back campaign, they get to choose two out of the three: a free PS3 or PSP game, some PS3 themes, or three months of PS Plus. However, it's best not to slouch off on that offer because once Sony has given out $6,000,000 dollars worth of games/themes/subs to that group, the deal switches to one month free of PS Plus for people still trying to claim their dues.
For people who got a free game back in 2011, their choices are either a game, a theme, or a subscription to PS Plus for three months. The switch to only receiving one month of PS Plus for that offer is at $4,000,00 dollars.
If a PSN user actually lost PSN Store credits, they are eligible to receive that money if the offer is greater than two dollars.
Some people who use their consoles for TV/movie services, like Netflix or Hulu, are able to get three months of PS Plus.
The last offering is for who people who were attacked by identity thieves during the outage. They can receive up to $2500.
This isn't all final yet, but news should come out soon with the final decision from a judge. Ways to obtain these offers will also be available through a toll-free number and a mailing address also if this whole thing occurs.
