In an effort to test the market of streaming video games, PlayStation has launched its beta for PlayStation Now.
PlayStation Now is a service that allows users to pay money to stream games for a period of days. Currently, the time period for rentals are 4 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days. According to Joystiq, Sony's Jack Buser said a subscription model is "definitely something in the works." He also said that some of the four hour rentals will reduce to $2 in the future, and that some games include DLC.
At the moment, the service is only available for testing in the United States and Canada. The only games playable are from the PlayStation 3's library. If players decide to use the service, it is recommeneded they have a 5MB connection.
